My Bio
I'm an ex-semi-pro photographer, lapsed but looking to get back into things. I used to do all kinds of photography but was mainly interested in portraiture, photo montage, snaps of garbage in the wild and live music. I starting off slowly from the beginning again with small projects. "puchi proje" is Japanese for "small project" so hopefully that explains the name.

I hate to throw around words like "fetish" but I do get a larger amount of pleasure from street furniture than I should. Though not sexual, there is a random and seemingly inexplicable satisfaction from photographing doors, windows and other fixtures and fittings from the highways and byways. This puzzles me because my true love is people photography and images of decay. I have stumbled across this and it doesn't really fit how I see myself as a photographer. I continue to puzzle myself.

This is a question that is not asked of me so much as implied in looks, sighs and silences when I show my pictures to family and friends. This is something that you don't get from an online forum unless the audience is extremely articulate and motivated to comment, which is sadly the case only rarely. A typical reaction might be the one I got from a good friend of mine back in the UK. He quickly riffled through the photos, commented on a few of the starker images like a crane completely enveloped in ivy, then pressed on to what he thinks of as the gold. Sadly, all most of my friends, colleagues and family seem to respond to is shots of geisha

It has been a long time since I took some pictures purely for pleasure and I am glad that I have decided to start again. Obviously it is very relaxing and rewarding in itself, though more than anything else I am just glad to be creating something again. I am also very happy to have seen some of them being favorited before I had even finished uploading the full set. I must admit that I am using this as not just an opportunity to take and display my photos, but also to start talking with creative and intelligent people again. In Japan it is very easy for a foreigner to become isolated, particularly if, like me, they are out in the boonies and
